Everyone at Thomas Reade Primary School at Abingdon dressed up to mark Oxfordshire Book Week.
Pupils, staff, the caretaker, even dinner ladies became characters from children’s books and fairy tales, with the aim of getting the children interested in reading.
Some of the older pupils wrote a play based on Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

The children visited Abingdon library and welcomed authors Alex Martin and Moira Andrew, who talked about their work.
Teacher Alison Holloway said: “The children have had a wonderful week. They thoroughly enjoyed it.”
Abingdon Library is in The Charter and is one of the most visited libraries in the county.
