A CAR driver was able to escape ‘safe and unharmed’ after their vehicle caught fire.

Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service reported that Wallingford firefighters were called to the scene on the A329 near Thame at about 6pm on Friday.

In a post online, the fire service wrote: “At approximately 6pm on Friday evening, the crew from Wallingford Fire Station got called to respond to a car fire on the A329 towards Thame.

“Driver was safe and unharmed. Crews made the scene safe by shutting the road, allowing the fire to be bought under control swiftly and minimising fire spread to the verge.”

Pictures shared by the fire service show the damage to both the interior and exterior of the burnt-out car.
