POLICE have confirmed that the body discovered in Bicester this morning was that of a two-year-old girl.
Police were called to an address in Herald Way, Glory Farm, with a concern for welfare of a child. The girl’s body was found at the address.
A police spokeswoman said nobody had been arrested but investigations were ongoing. The death is being treated as unexplained.
The ambulance service was called at 11.06am by Thames Valley Police. A spokesman said a child was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police have a scene watch in place at the address, which will remain for the rest of the day.
Detective Chief Inspector Ian Hunter said: “Officers launched an investigation which is at a very early stage, so there is no further information that can be given at this time. However, we do not believe there is a risk posed to the wider community.”
