CHRIS Brewer seems not to understand the value of CCTV cameras in the fight against crime and wants statistics from the police (ViewPoints, May 10).
If you watch any crime programme on the many TV channels available today, it’s possible to see many crimes being committed from which prosecution followed.
CCTV is also a great crime deterrent, which is impossible to have figures for.
If proof is needed of the value of cameras the evidence is before your very eyes – just watch TV.

Of course it is possible to have figures for. You have comparative details from before cameras were put in, and then afterwards.
