This is a reader's letter published in the Oxford Mail this week. The location of the writer is not included.
For the first time in a long while, I made a visit into Oxford and in the course of which I visited Market Street toilets.
Well, what a disgrace!
Goodness knows what visitors to our dreaming spires must think.
They are the most central to the city and in the past I have seen many tours stopping off there.
They were absolutely disgusting.
Of the five or six cubicles, three were blocked and another didn’t flush.
If the council cannot keep them clean then it would be better to close them.
Surely a city like Oxford can do better than that!
There doesn’t seem to be any pride in the city these days.
