This is a reader's letter published in this week's edition of The Oxford Times.
Many of us are inconvenienced by Low Traffic Neighbourhoods, and will be further inconvenienced when more LTNs are put in place.
However, carrots such as cycle lanes and regular bus services only go so far in getting people out of their cars.
Sticks such as high parking fees and LTNs do work - for instance the London congestion charge reduced traffic levels by 15 per cent.
We have to get out of our cars to help reduce climate change and air pollution.
