Paving slabs were laid and seats provided at Abingdon recently and they improved the town centre. It was lovely to sit and rest awhile.
Last Saturday, when I visited Abingdon, huge vehicles were moving lots of the stones and making huge holes in the ground.
At one side was a huge Christmas tree.
Don't you think the council could use its brains and make allowance for the huge holes they dug for the tree? Council taxes are high enough without recent work having to be ruined so that a tree can be put there.
Workmen will have to come back to remove the tree and all the small slabs will have to be relaid again.
It was a job that took a long time and looked lovely.
