I READ with interest in Tuesday’s Oxford Mail (January 27) the report that senior county councillors were considering resigning because of the scale of cuts to services.
Could I suggest that instead of resigning from their seats on the council they resign from the Conservative Party and sit as Independent councillors as this would send a strong message to the Conservative Government.
The councillors claim they want to fight for the community. Perhaps their voices would be heard better in Whitehall if they took my suggested action and distanced themselves from this austerity-driven Government.
