AFTER reading your front page (Oxford Mail, January 21) of the huge amount paid out to compensate injuries/damage caused by uneven/icy pavements and potholed roads, it is quite frustrating to see double yellow lines being implemented on the two lay-bys on the A418 between Tiddington and the service station at Wheatley.
After speaking to other folk last night it appears that the same’s happening elsewhere along the A40. What a waste of money that could have been spent better elsewhere. Who will police these lines? As an Oxfordshire resident all my 72 years I sometimes despair of how our taxes/council taxes are allocated.
