TO ADD to Richard Tyrrell’s sound observations (Letters, July 10), travelling to swimming pools in Oxford is not just a problem for children and their parents.
To travel to The Leys Pool from home I would need to use two buses. As I am partially disabled I would not relish this experience when considering the amount of time it might take.
Senior citizens are often reminded to take exercise to help to stay healthy.
I know of numerous ladies and gentlemen who have not used any of Oxford’s swimming facilities since the hasty closure of Temple Cowley Pools.
The pool should have stayed open. Nothing has happened on the site.
