The evidence that an impact assessment is urgently required before any further expansion of Bicester Village is posted on practically every road into Bicester.

If only the planners had the gumption to look for it, it takes the form of big yellow signs with big black letters concerning overflow car parks.

This time of the year and on bank holidays they will of course be full, and Mr Planner, if you only you would come and see, so will most of the streets in the surrounding area much to the distress of local residents. Many are trapped on their drives and other townspeople in their cars.

Bicester Village has consistently failed to make good its promise to address these problems.

Today’s letters

If there is money enough to expand retail space there is enough to make good their promises for a park-and-ride.

Are the planners and county councillors turning a blind eye to the chaos caused, or are they not listening? Indifference to public opinion has brought a new kid into national politics, Ukip.

A few drubbings at the polls seem to have improved the hearing of the old order. Politicians love to quote the ‘trickle down effect’, they should recognise at whatever level, it applies to them as well, before a torrent flushes out complacent council chambers and officials.

I do admire the French; they would have solved the problem by hitting Bicester Village where it hurts most, in the tills.

What do we British do? Not a thing, ‘well they won’t listen will they’. And who’s fault’s that? Ours.

I’ve had enough, so many of you have had enough so, next election let’s join the new wave and flush the hard of hearing politicians at whatever level down the toilet and get our town back.
