Can anyone from Oxfordshire County Council please stand up and tell me why they think that it is okay to treat the commuting public of south Oxfordshire with such disgraceful disrespect?
I am, of course, referring to the complete mess around the Abingdon Road roundabout and the ringroad “improvement works”.
The disruption to bus users and commuters to the south of the city has been completely and utterly unacceptable.
There really is no excuse that the council can utter that is worthy enough to pacify the poor passengers who have had to endure a one to two-hour journey from Abingdon into Oxford.
Today’s letters
One can only wonder how much this congestion has cost the taxpayer, businesses and commuters, and with that in mind, I feel that an independent inquiry is urgently needed to get to the heart of this complete foul-up and hopefully find out what has gone so drastically wrong.
Any roadworks should be heavily weighed towards trying to keep commuter delays to the absolute minimum. This has clearly failed. And heads should roll.
