I am writing this letter to bring a matter to the attention of residents of Old Marston.

Following a closed meeting in June with parish councillors, city councillors and David Tole from the county council to discuss the various traffic surveys and the parking problems in our area, there will now be a public meeting on the issue. The meeting will be held on July 29 at 6.30pm in Mortimer Hall, Old Marston.

This is your chance, to air your views and discuss the issue to see if a possible solution can be found.

Many people have complained about non-residents using our streets as a car park for so long, myself included.

I do not want Old Marston made a controlled parking zone where residents would have to pay £50 a year and that will increase year after year. Perhaps we could have a blanket limited parking.

If everyone who has moaned about this parking problem came to the meeting, we could fill Mortimer Hall to capacity and more.

So please come to the meeting. If only a few come, the council would think no-one was interested and we would end up with a solution no-one wanted.
