WHY are we saying people of an ethnic minority, or people with a disability, should be chosen or given preference when it comes to applying for jobs? It is totally unacceptable.
All people should be employed on merit, not because of their colour, disability, race, creed or sexual preference.
Whatever happened to picking the best and not being patronising? This is called ‘positive discrimination’ but I find nothing positive about it and I consider it to be offensive and condescending to disabled people and minorities.
There are many highly qualified people in each of these examples and to suggest that they would get a job based on their colour, or because they are disabled, takes away the achievement of beating their disabilities and going back to full-time work.
Why doesn’t the Government fund the problem and give these people the right equipment and teaching to overcome diversity, instead of giving companies a directive to employing such people.
This is disgusting, degrading and condescending.
