ONE aspect of the proposed Botley development which has not had much attention is the sheer number of students it is planned to accommodate.
Six hundred – about the equivalent of two or three streets, or more than 50 football teams – will be housed in a building the size of an ocean liner.
I have nothing against students – I was one myself – but they do not have any stake in the local community, and we simply cannot absorb so many transients.
If Brookes want student housing, why can’t they use their own land?
