BANBURY business leaders have been urged to make better use of their time at work.
The message came from Basil Mienie, motivational expert from the BBC documentary The Armstrongs.
He was guest speaker at a packed meeting of the Banbury business networking group, First Bite, and told the audience: "Too many people spend their time being busy but not actually achieving anything.
"What's the point of congratulating yourself for working an 18-hour day if your achievements can be put down to a single hour?
"Too often we set ourselves goals that aren't really our goals. Then we have to spend time working to try to make it happen.
"It's far better to be yourself. And being honest and open with people will always put you in good standing."
More than 30 people attended last week's meeting at Rye Hill Golf Club, Milcombe.
Chairman David Morris said: "It was great to see so many people. Basil was an inspiring and entertaining speaker and I know those who attended found the meeting extremely worthwhile."
The next First Bite open meeting is on Tuesday, December 12.
