WEST OF ENGLAND PREMIER LEAGUE
OXFORD Cavaliers A have withdrawn from the league due to a lack of player numbers.
Cavaliers were fielding two sides this season, with their first team competing at a higher level than previously, but it has not proved sustainable.
Chairman Stuart James said the decision came after being able to name only seven players for a cancelled away game and just ten for their last home fixture.
“It was always going to be a big step-up for us to have a second team, he said.
“Unfortunately it has been more of a struggle than we anticipated.
“We had hoped to compete, but it is not the end of the world.
“Our first team are doing well in their league.”
