London Welsh assistant coach Gordon Ross has promised an improvement when they host Leicester Tigers in the Aviva Premiership on Sunday, writes Ed Mezzetti.
Ross was an unused replacement in Welsh’s 71-7 hammering at Wasps last week – a performance he described as “a pretty dark day”.
Asked what he would say to fans who were tempted to give up on the team, he replied: “I can understand that when results have not been that great.
“We as coaches and players are doing our best on and off the pitch to put it right.
“Hopefully, we will see an improvement this week.

“We are not going to say we’ll beat Leicester by 50 points, but we will see an improvement.”
Sunday’s defeat was Welsh’s 11th in a row and their heaviest of a dismal season.
Ross said: “It was a pretty dark day on Sunday and a pretty dark journey on the bus back from High Wycombe.”
But he said the players were still looking forward to their Tigers test and urged fans to keep backing them.
“We are playing one of the best sides in Europe over the last ten to 15 years, who have a large away following,” Ross.
“It should be a good atmosphere.”
