NATIONAL 2 SOUTH
CHINNOR lost 31-14 in a card fest at leaders Hartpury College.
The visitors were down to 12 men at one point during the first half, with flanker Harry Betts, lock Andrew Tibbatts and No 8 Liam Gilbert in the sin-bin.
Replacement Adam Hastings also saw yellow in the second half, while Hartpury flanker Joseph Batley completed the tally.
Hartpury led 26-0 after a dominant first half in which former Chinnor wing Jaike Carter opened the try scoring.
Fly half Gareth Thompson, flanker Mike Luxton and a penalty try made up the home side’s scoresheet, with full back Craig Jackson converting three of their tries.
Chinnor enjoyed a strong start to the second half and gave the leaders a scare in reducing the arrears to 26-14.
Replacement prop Andy Berry bagged Chinnor’s first try on 54 minutes, which fly half Will Millett converted.
Full back Sam Stoop ran in try No 2 ten minutes later, Millett again converting.
But once Hastings had been sin-binned, Hartpury had the final say with a try from Batley on 75 minutes.
Chinnor stay tenth in the table, but are just seven points above the relegation zone.
