SWINDON boss Paolo Di Canio was sent to the stands for the third time this season on Saturday.
But after his side beat Macclesfield 1-0, he claimed that when he heard James Constable was not sure if he wanted to move to the Robins, he had already decided he did not want to sign the Oxford striker anyway.
“The chairman called me to say we cannot go through,” Di Canio said.
“I asked what happened and he told me that he (Constable) wanted to think about the move.
“At that moment, I said I don’t want to know anything more and I don’t want him any more.
“The fact he hesitated, or already decided he did not want to come, it did not matter to me. I didn’t want him any more. He can stay at Oxford.”
