DEFENDER Joe Skarz is hoping Morecambe keeper Barry Roche does not repeat his goalscoring heroics when they make the trip to Lancashire tomorrow.

United take on the Shrimps in Sky Bet League Two, looking to address a run of three games without a win in all competitions.

Skarz is fully aware of the dangers Morecambe pose and they may have to keep an eye out for Roche in their own penalty area after the keeper headed a 90th-minute equaliser against Portsmouth ten days ago.

The goalkeeper also salvaged his side a point at the Kassam Stadium in September by saving Kemar Roofe’s penalty.

Skarz said: “Yeah we have (got to watch out for Roche).

“I know Barry from doing my coaching course with him.

“He is a good keeper at this level.

"Obviously he got them a point in the corresponding fixture earlier this season.

“We will hopefully be putting a few past him rather than him putting a few past us.”

Another player well known to United is veteran striker Kevin Ellison, who has scored seven goals this season.

Skarz added: “He is a really good player at this level.

“You can’t take him lightly and you can hear him in the tunnel when you go out anyway so you know he is there.

“He is a really good professional and someone we will have to keep an eye on.”
