Peep peep! That's the full-time whistle on today's chat. Great to have such #PositiveVibz, thanks for all your thoughts. On to Rotherham!
— @OxfordMailOUFC 14 January 2013
11:34am
@OxfordMailOUFC our fans are fickle. Win a couple & we'll be in the Championship in 2 years, next week we'll be in BS South. #feetontheground
— @Big_badWolfe 14 January 2013
11:34am
@OxfordMailOUFC with Clarke out for at least 10wks they must bring in someone with experience incase Brown gets injured or has a howler!
— @lloydcalcutt 14 January 2013
11:30am
@OxfordMailOUFC was there & was one of our best performances since wilder came in. Tactics were spot on. Montrose & Lev looked v good #OUFC
— @Big_badWolfe 14 January 2013
11:30am
Saw plenty of Montrose for Gillingham last season. On his day he's fantastic at this level, played 40-odd games in Wycombe's promotion...
— @OxfordMailOUFC 14 January 2013
...winning season two years ago. Can be really poor on an off-day, but could turn out to be a cracking signing.
— @OxfordMailOUFC 14 January 2013
11:28am
@OxfordMailOUFC thought he was immense espically after picking up that booking he controlled midfield with lev superb beside him #oufc
— @Rtanner82 14 January 2013
11:27am
In terms of ins/outs this month, Wilder told us last week (admittedly before the Clarke news broke) he wasn't expecting any. Priority is...
— @OxfordMailOUFC 14 January 2013
...on keeping this squad together and getting everybody fit. Obvious exception is Richards (1 month loan to cover Beano) and poss O'Brien.
— @OxfordMailOUFC 14 January 2013
11:25am
Just a few mins left for today, so anything else you want to get off your chest now is the time... #oufc
— @OxfordMailOUFC 14 January 2013
What about the return of Johnny Mullins with Rotherham on Saturday? Hopefully he doesn't play as well in a Millers shirt.
— @OxfordMailOUFC 14 January 2013
11:25am
@OxfordMailOUFC for me, the next four games will define how serious we will be pushing for promotion! 4 games against teams above us! #hard
— @GrantMadden1 14 January 2013
11:24am
@OxfordMailOUFC Really hope we can sign Leven on for another year at least. Looks back to his best. Will he want to stay in L2 though?
— @oufcgeorge 14 January 2013
11:21am
@OxfordMailOUFC I will hold my hands up, no Craddock and 3 centre backs I thought we were going to struggle! Well done Mr Wilder!
— @kevinspackman 14 January 2013
11:21am
No news yet Mark, but that doesn't mean there aren't negotiations taking place. Fear not, we are asking questions about it.
— @OxfordMailOUFC 14 January 2013
11:21am
@OxfordMailOUFC several players and the manager out of contract in Summer. Any news on contracts being offered?
— @mjgelder 14 January 2013
11:21am
@OxfordMailOUFC can't believe we've gone from having one of the best surfaces in leagues 2 and 1 to one of the worst. #damneggchasers
— @OUFCAddict 14 January 2013
11:19am
United don't have any control on what happens to the pitch, but it would be in the stadium company's interest to get the game on.
Snow can sometimes help prevent a pitch freezing, so we'll have to wait and see.

KPGenius says
Do OUFC have much control over how the pitch is covered and trying to get heaters in if needed to keep Saturday's game on? Forecast doesn't look to clever at the minute!
11:19am
There was rugby last Sat, so with a cold snap this week our guess is the pitch could deteriorate a bit more, but no midweek game may help.
— @OxfordMailOUFC 14 January 2013
Worth mentioning the worst spell of L Welsh games is over. They're at home just twice between now and April. #oufc
— @OxfordMailOUFC 14 January 2013
11:18am
@OxfordMailOUFC how's the pitch looking at the Kass Stad ahead of Saturday, snow isn't going to help?!
— @realpaulhawtin 14 January 2013
11:18am
Surprised no-one has mentioned the impact of Lewis Montrose for #oufc on Saturday. Peter Leven compared him to the Terminator...
— @OxfordMailOUFC 14 January 2013
11:13am
It's a worthwhile point, Tom. We'll have something on precisely that issue later in the week.
— @OxfordMailOUFC 14 January 2013
11:13am
RT @CaptainTomox: @OxfordMailOUFC Would be so useful to have a reserve team. Would give players like Crocombe, Marsh, O'Dowda and fringe players games.
— @OxfordMailOUFC 14 January 2013
11:11am
@OxfordMailOUFC agreed. But it's best to look as high as possible and fall back on the playoffs if it ends up that way. #OnTheUp #oufc
— @Sam_Leslie7 14 January 2013
11:11am
Couldn't agree more, Paul. No-one would fancy taking on #oufc at the moment, the Rotherham game is shaping up to be a real cracker.
— @OxfordMailOUFC 14 January 2013
11:11am
RT @realpaulhawtin: @OxfordMailOUFC true but they're tough games for the opposition too, we're the form team in L2 does anyone want to play us at the moment?
— @OxfordMailOUFC 14 January 2013
11:11am
RT @Tom95M: @OxfordMailOUFC Yes, and a good decision to play Richards not Craddock as a lone striker, he holds up the ball better and is stronger
— @OxfordMailOUFC 14 January 2013
11:11am
@OxfordMailOUFC would rather have Asa hall between the sticks than Turley
— @alanbaker_ 14 January 2013
11:05am
@OxfordMailOUFC with that team sheet and going 1-0 down, I bet there wasn't many fans thinking we would win that? I know I didn't!
— @OufcGoody 14 January 2013
11:05am
Sensible approach, George. Let's enjoy this run but there's still some really tough games to come in the next couple of weeks.
— @OxfordMailOUFC 14 January 2013
11:04am
RT @mjgelder: @OxfordMailOUFC about 12 clubs probably aiming for that 3rd place. win our games in hand and could be us.
— @OxfordMailOUFC 14 January 2013
RT @GeorgeDugdale: @OxfordMailOUFC I'm going into cliché mode. Concentrate on the next game & see where we finish. When we use the P-word, we tend to mess up!
— @OxfordMailOUFC 14 January 2013
11:04am
Crocombe is highly rated at #oufc, but they're very aware that throwing him in now may not be the best thing for his development.
— @OxfordMailOUFC 14 January 2013
11:04am
@OxfordMailOUFC immense credit, the hate he was getting on twitter and the forum was ridiculous but hes got through it superbly #oufc
— @tim_cowley 14 January 2013
11:04am
@OxfordMailOUFC just as predicted wilder comes through a tough time with points and head held high. proved the doubters wrong
— @OUFCAddict 14 January 2013
@OxfordMailOUFC Wilder deserves credit. He looked on the brink a couple of months ago but certainly has bottle and determination.
— @OUFCGoldenBoy 14 January 2013
11:01am
@OxfordMailOUFC we should bring in another GK anyway to cover Brown, we only have a kid on the bench who hasn't played yet.
— @realpaulhawtin 14 January 2013
11:01am
@OxfordMailOUFC not that realistic #elvishasleftthebuilding
— @007statto 14 January 2013
11:00am
Think it's worth giving Wilder credit. He was hammered on here when things were going badly, but #oufc have turned themselves around.
— @OxfordMailOUFC 14 January 2013
There were more than a few raised eyebrows in the press box when the team sheets came round on Sat, but he was proved right, wasn't he?
— @OxfordMailOUFC 14 January 2013
11:00am
RT @OufcGoody: @OxfordMailOUFC it's mad that we were so poor for so long and yet win our game in hand and we;re 3points off auto's, wilder deserves credit
— @OxfordMailOUFC 14 January 2013
10:58am
@OxfordMailOUFC no way! He hasn't played league football for how long? He was partial to a mistake in the conf as well. Brown deserves a go
— @OufcGoody 14 January 2013
10:57am
Hi Georgios. Wilder told us on Sat the pen shoot-out was the moment #oufc realised Clarke couldn't carry on without the op.
— @OxfordMailOUFC 14 January 2013
10:57am
RT @GeorgeyB1_2_3: @OxfordMailOUFC was the reason Clarke let 3 penalties slip under him in the shootout to do with his injured shoulders?
— @OxfordMailOUFC 14 January 2013
10:57am
@OxfordMailOUFC No offence to Brown but he is prone to Howlers and Turley was consistent for years. If Brown gets sent off, then what?
— @JamesPitt85 14 January 2013
10:57am
@OxfordMailOUFC not one bit, its only because hes on twitter that it came up. rather have phil whitehead back #oufc
— @tim_cowley 14 January 2013
10:55am
@OxfordMailOUFC it's a cute story, but lets be realistic, he's nearly 40, and playing in the BSN. Probably not the perfect 'fit'
— @ABrown31 14 January 2013
10:55am
@OxfordMailOUFC Sounds like there is from him. Certainly has a huge love for the club, but whether he'd be good enough is another matter.
— @CaptainTomox 14 January 2013
10:55am
There was plenty of love on Twitter on Sat night for a certain ex-#oufc keeper to return. Anyone think that's realistic?
— @OxfordMailOUFC 14 January 2013
10:54am
Although Brown is the #oufc gk coach he's also the No 2. What's the point in having him as a player if he's not used at a time like this?
— @OxfordMailOUFC 14 January 2013
10:54am
@OxfordMailOUFC I've nothing against Brown but he does seem to make at least 1 clanger per game!
— @realpaulhawtin 14 January 2013
10:54am
@OxfordMailOUFC no offence to brown but he does not fill me with confidence
— @OUFCAddict 14 January 2013
10:50am
@OxfordMailOUFC it's the 1st time since 1996 that we've won 4 consecutive football league games. We went on a great run to promotion then...
— @Andy_Hawkes 14 January 2013
10:50am
There's been no talk of any signings to cover. Brown rightly held his hand up for the goal, but he's experienced enough to shrug it off.
— @OxfordMailOUFC 14 January 2013
10:50am
It was such a shame Saturday's joy was soured slightly by the news about Clarke. Sounds like he's not been 100 per cent for a while.
— @OxfordMailOUFC 14 January 2013
10:50am
@OxfordMailOUFC No way. We can and should be aiming for top 3.
— @OUFCPCW 14 January 2013
10:47am
@OxfordMailOUFC i think this chat will be somewhat different from the one a month ago which was fuelled by hate! what a turn around! #oufc
— @tim_cowley 14 January 2013
10:47am
Plenty of cause for optimism though. Constable, Chapman, Smalley and Whing should all come into the frame in the next few weeks. #oufc
— @OxfordMailOUFC 14 January 2013
10:46am
@OxfordMailOUFC my target at start of season was top 3 but would definitely take 7th now after what's happened this season
— @realpaulhawtin 14 January 2013
10:46am
@OxfordMailOUFC Yes, absolutely. However, with the league so tight, i think we should be setting our sights at that 3rd spot.
— @ABrown31 14 January 2013
10:44am
Nothing wrong with setting a lofty target but need to be realistic. Think #oufc would be delighted to finish 7th. Would you settle for that?
— @OxfordMailOUFC 14 January 2013
10:44am
@OxfordMailOUFC We're riding a huge wave at the moment. Hopefully stay clear of injuries from now on. We've had our share!
— @CaptainTomox 14 January 2013
10:44am
@OxfordMailOUFC I think auto is possible but it would need an incredible run of form, no more than three defeats and win home games
— @realpaulhawtin 14 January 2013
10:40am
Morning KPGenius.
It's a good question but as it stands no-one has said anything on contract negotiations.
There's a big chunk of the squad out of contract in the summer, with several United would be keen to extend.
We are looking into it, when we get an answer, you'll have it.

Morning David, any word on whether Wilder/key players out of contract are in negotiations with Lenagan on new deals?
10:39am
Hi Sam. What do we think about the chances of top 3? Six point gap but #oufc have a game in hand on most. If you're asking us, think...
— @OxfordMailOUFC 14 January 2013
...top 3 would be a massive ask. This run has been great, but it's just made up for the losing streak in Sept.
— @OxfordMailOUFC 14 January 2013
10:36am
@OxfordMailOUFC an impressive run of results recently. Could we possibly start thinking about the auto promotion again? #oufc
— @Sam_Leslie7 14 January 2013
10:35am
There were 260 #oufc fans shivering in the away end on Saturday. Who was there? And just how highly do you rate that performance?
— @OxfordMailOUFC 14 January 2013
10:34am
Shame you have missed the good run, Gareth, but on behalf of all #oufc fans we'd like to say thanks for taking one for the team!
— @OxfordMailOUFC 14 January 2013
10:33am
@OxfordMailOUFC it will be 3am here during fan chat so I will just say that it is typical of #oufc to do well when I am not there. #4InARow

We are on a really great run of form right now - I really think the boys believe they can beat everyone in this division. Football is so much about confidence and we have it right now, in spades. If we can keep certain key players fit then I think we will be in the play-offs at a minimum.
Such a shame Clarke is out - hopefully we can get a good replacement in.
