CHRIS Wilder will use Oxford United’s tour to look at a potential new goalkeeper.

The U’s boss revealed to the Oxford Mail that he will cast his eye over an American stopper during the nine-day trip.

Although refusing to name him, Wilder said: “We’ve got Mike Green here (on trial) and we will be looking at an American boy while we are on tour. The keeper situation needs sorting out.”

Although transfer-listed duo Matt Green and Ben Purkiss are not in America, Simon Clist has flown out.

Wilder said: “His attitude is great. He knows that he is not in my plans long-term, but he is still an employee of the football club.”
