THOUSANDS of Oxford United fans have now arrived at Wembley Stadium.

Supporters are milling around outside the national stadium, with a large number congregating near the Bobby Moore statue.

Oxford United chairman Kelvin Thomas has been shaking hands with fans and having his picture taken in front of the monument.

One of the fans who has arrived early for the game is Andy Willis, 32, owner of Andy’s Barber Shop in Sheep Street, Bicester.

He said: “Kelvin came into the shop yesterday morning at 7am for a haircut and hot towel face shave, and the manager Chris Wilder did the same on Thursday, so they were all spruced up for the game.

“It’s great to see the chairman here early to mingle with the fans. He could have gone straight to the directors’ box.”

Doris Hill, 78, from Kidlington is at Wembley with her son Russell Hill, 50, from Cowley and his friend Richard Jarvis, 34, from Headington.

Mrs Hill said: “I’ve been supporting the club for 62 years and this is a fantastic day.”
