JIMMY Floyd Hasselbaink says dragging Oxford United into a relegation battle is of no concern to his side.
Four wins in their last eight games have helped Northampton Town climb out of the Sky Bet League One relegation zone.
But that run has been masked by back-to-back home defeats, which leaves the Cobblers just a point above the bottom four.
With United struggling for form and looking over their shoulder, Hasselbaink’s side could drag them into the battle.
But the 45-year-old (above) insists he is solely focused on his own team.
Hasselbaink told the Northampton Chronicle & Echo: “If we win, then it is one point difference between the clubs, but I don’t really want to talk about that.
“That’s not the issue, because you have to look at the game blank.
“We are playing at home, we would like to take the game to them and have the best outcome for us, forget about everything else around the game.
“We need to just strip it down, and think about us and the two previous games and not really look at Oxford and what they have done in the past.
“We need to make it about us, and get forward and really try to make it a positive.”
