JOHN Lundstram will miss the next three games, including the Johnstone's Paint Trophy final at Wembley, after the Football Association rejected an appeal to his red card on Good Friday.

Oxford United felt the midfielder's tackle 17 minutes into the 1-1 draw with Stevenage did not warrant a dismissal.

Head coach Michael Appleton did not even think it was a foul, prompting the club's decision to appeal.

United submitted their evidence yesterday, but after considering it this afternoon the FA's disciplinary panel upheld referee Paul Tierney's original decision.

The only good news was the panel did not increase the length of the suspension, which remains at three games.

It means the influential Lundstram will miss tomorrow's trip to Cambridge United in Sky Bet League Two, the JPT final against Barnsley and the league fixture at Crawley Town on April 9.
