THE snow has prevented Oxford United training outdoors this week, but Mickey Lewis does not believe a winter break would help.
The squad have prepared for the game at Fleetwood Town tomorrow with sessions in the 3G dome at Oxford Academy.
It is the second week in a row the wintry weather has forced the U’s, whose game against Rotherham last weekend was postponed, have had to change their plans.
Some countries in mainland Europe have a break in the season to avoid disruption to the fixture lists at this time of year.
But while Lewis, United’s assistant manager, can see the benefits of such a plan, but doubts whether it could be successful in an English climate.
He said: “Sometimes you think it would be a good idea, but you can’t predict what the weather is going to be.
“You could have a winter break when the weather’s really good and on the first day back you could have weather like this.
“It’s too unpredictable really to manage.”
