Jon Jukes is the new Greene King ODDA Summer League men’s singles champion.

In front of a large finals-night crowd who witnessed an exciting exhibition of top-quality throwing at Rover Cowley, he overcame Rileys C teammate Stuart Dutton 2-0.

The pair had been the two most consistent performers over the season and it was Jukes’s second title, having triumphed in 2002.

The ladies final went right to the wire as Kim Ledbury (Nuffield Bar) came from 1-0 down to triumph 2-1 over first-time finalist Phil Young (Team Berry) to add her first summer singles crown to her two winter titles.

The men’s pairs champions are Michael Wilkes and Paul Champ (Peachcroft SC), who defeated Andy Coggins and Andy Cookson (Butcher’s Arms, Witney).

Ladies pairs champions Christine and Sharon Thompson (Blackbird Bar) had to fight hard to hang on to their trophy after Megan Curtis and Ruth Stockwell had taken the first leg.

The Blackbird pair battled back strongly for a 2-1 win, Premier champions Rileys C completed a double when they lifted the men’s seven-a-side cup with a tense victory over Peachcroft SC.

Pete Hall gave Rileys the lead with a 2-0 win over Michael Wilkes, Peachcroft levelling when Paul Cross saw off Ollie Varney.

Roger Haines got the better of Rob Cook to give Rileys the advantage again, only for Mark Breakspear to make it all square again with a win over Ade Larner.

Rileys secured their win thanks to victories from Jon Jukes and Phil Addison.

The ladies seven-a-side cup also produced a 4-2 scoreline in favour of Premier champions Florence Park A, who defeated Nuffield Bar.

Michelle Ewins gave Florence Park the early lead when she beat Megan Curtis, the Nuffield hitting back through Paulette Guy and Kim Ledbury.

Natalie Creed-Roberts, Jo Gleed and Clare Bywaters then sealed the verdict for Florence Park, Bywaters finishing the match with a brilliant 116 (20-60-36).
