Oxfordshire teenager Dean Lockyer will fly the flag for the county in the last 64 of the PDC Unicorn Under 21 World Championship.

Lockyer, 19, from Didcot, came through a qualifying tournament at Rileys, Oxford, and now throws for a top prize of £10,000 at the Barnsley Metrodome.

The winner and runner-up there will be given wild cards for the Grand Slam of Darts professional tournament from November 13-21 in Wolverhampton, where they could come up against reigning world champion Phil ‘The Power’ Taylor.

It will be a busy weekend for Lockyer as the following day he lines up for Oxfordshire Youth against Kent, at the Six-in-One Club, Tonbridge.

* Rileys C teammates Stuart Dutton and Jon Jukes will meet in the Greene King ODDA Summer League men’s singles final at Rover Cowley on November 19.

Both produced brilliant throwing in the play-offs, Dutton defeating previous winner Kevin Wilkins (Shears) in the quarter-finals and then overcoming Phil Cook (Cowley Workers) in a brilliant semi to seal his first singles final.

Jukes beat Steve Colling (Three Horseshoes) and then saw off defending champion Ian Moss (Butchers Arms) in a high-quality semi-final.

The men’s pairs final will be between Butchers Arms’ Andy Coggins and Andy Cookson, and Peachcroft SC’s Paul Champ and Michael Wilkes.
