FIELDSIDE captured the Gentworks Oxford & District League’s Atox Cup with a 4-1 victory over Oxford Bowls Club B in the final at Littlemore British Legion.
The contest was closer than the score might suggest.
Bob Chivers (-15) gave Fieldside a good start by beating Terry Gripe (+35) 75-58.
Simon Aries (-15) scrambled home 75-69 against Simon Painter (+35), before Paul Robinson (-15) made it 3-0 by edging out Terry Cook (+20) 75-73 thanks to a break of 47.
After Gripe beat Chivers 75-35 for the Bowls Club’s only victory, Aries sealed Fieldside’s success by beating Painter 75-35.
