JON Jukes captured his ninth men’s singles title after the most spectacular final in the long history of the Greene King ODDA.

Jukes overcame his Cowley Workers teammate Aaran Stevens 2-1 on Winter League finals night at their home venue – but that tells only a small part of the story.

Jukes took the first leg in 14 darts (100-95-140-98 and 68 finish) against Stevens’s scores of 95-134-81-171.

The second leg went to Stevens, who produced scores of 137 and 134.

The superb scoring continued in the deciding leg.

Stevens missed one dart at the double to win the match, before Jukes made no mistake to secure another crown.

The ladies’ singles final was less explosive, but steady throwing gave Carol Smith (Witney Snooker Club) her first singles title against teammate Hazel Prowton.

The men’s winter pairs title went to Kevin Wilkins and Tom Baughan (Challow British Legion), who came from one leg down to defeat Jukes and Stevens 2-1, Baughan hitting a 180 in the second leg.

The ladies’ winter pairs champions are Sarah Moyes and Sonia McBlain, who overcame the pairing of Chris Thompson and Shaz Thompson (Blackbird Bar).

The mixed pairs final brought together Kidlington Green SC duos Sean Holly and Amy Cork, and Rob Smith and Katrina Blackman.

With the score level at 1-1, Holly and Cork sealed the match with the latter getting the vital double 16. Blackman hit a 180 in the second leg

The men’s sevens-a-side title went to Premier champions Kidlington Green Social Club B as wins from Holly, Geordie Grant, Mark Burns and Terry Woods gave them a 4-0 win over Cowley Workers Club.

And the Ladies seven-a-side title also went Premier champions Florence Park Community Centre.

Their opponents, Witney Snooker Club, took the opening game thanks to Paulette Guy, but Park hit back to win 4-1 through Angie Godfrey, Debbie Stock, Tina Hamilton and Angie Pointin.
