OXFORD Hawks had to settle for fourth place in South League Premier Division 1 after drawing 3-3 at home to champions Havant.

The hosts twice took the lead with goals from Toby Blong, but Havant hit back each time to make it 2-2 at the break.

The visitors made it 3-2 15 minutes into the second half through a needlessly conceded penalty corner, before Ted Bennett fired home to level things up once more.

Although Hawks enjoyed the lions’s share of the play, they could not find the winner that would have lifted them into third spot in the final table.

Nevertheless, this represents Hawks most successful league campaign since they were relegated from the National League ten years ago, and has raised hopes that they might become genuine contenders for South Premier honours next season.

Witney wrapped up their Middlesex Berks, Bucks & Oxon Division 1 season with a 4-1 win over Henley 2nd to finish 13 points clear. Their goals came from Rory Heaslip (2), Jacob Deacon and Ben Wells.
