CITY of Oxford came a close second in the first round of the Chiltern League Division 2 campaign at Bletchley.
Oxford secured seven victories from their team of 37 swimmers, aged nine and upwards, in individual 50m and 100m events plus 4x25m relay events.
They finished with 237 points, just five behind winners Four Shires. Bicester were third on 235.
City’s Academy head coach, Liz Basterfield, said: “It was the first team event for some of the younger swimmers and they did extremely well.”
