SPORTS organisations in Oxford have an opportunity to secure a financial boost thanks to a new limited-time grant.
The Oxford Sports Council are allocating a total of £20,000 to be awarded to worthy causes for facilities, equipment and coaching programmes.
Applications will be accepted until March 31, with the successful applicants to be announced at the Oxford Sports Council’s AGM and presentation night on May 15.
Clubs must be able to demonstrate positive long-term benefits for their sport, help to improve participation or promote excellence.

Meanwhile, Town defeated Gown for the second year running at the Oxford Sports Council’s annual triangular competition at Oxford Brookes University.
Almost 100 people, from aged 15 to 30, in took part in badminton, fencing, judo, netball and squash.
Oxford University came second to the Town team, while Oxford Brookes Univeristy finished third.
