KIDLINGTON were crowned champions of the Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division, claiming a place in the Southern League for the first time in the club’s history.

The Greens won an exceptional 13 games in a row before finishing their campaign with 3-3 draw at home to Tuffley Rovers, having lost just once in the league since the turn of the year.

There was no glory for Oxford United, however, after they were beaten 3-2 by Barnsley in the final of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy at Wembley.

Oxford City Stars’ National League South Division 1 campaign ended with a dramatic play-off defeat at Streatham Redskins.

Stars won the first leg 2-0 in front their biggest crowd of the season at Oxpens, but came unstuck in London as they were beaten 4-3 on aggregate.

A consortium of local businessmen took over the club, vowing to ‘bring more success to Oxfordshire’.
