BRITISH Rail are on track for their best-ever start to an Oxford & District League season.
They have claimed maximum points from their opening three Division 1 games following an 8-2 success at home to Forum B.
Neil Cartwright did the lion’s share for BR with a maximum, but Ross Henderson hit back for Forum with five-game victories over Greg Donovan and Darren Jones.
Forum A beat Forum C 8-2 thanks to maximums from Karl Bushell and Elson Costa.
But Maria Lebedeva succumbed to the C team’s Pascal Larousse and Chris Smith before beating Guy Plowman 12-10 in the decider.
Struggling Vikings A and Begbroke fought out a 5-5 draw. Two wins each for Rob Cleese and Thomas Bowden for Vikings were matched by doubles from Paul Humphrey and Janet Brown.
Despite fielding only two players, Bicester A secured an unlikely 5-5 draw at home to Vikings B as Simon Cox and Paul Borrowdale both beat Michael Harrison.
Forum D saw off Academy A 7-3 to stay top of Division 2, despite an impressive maximum for Academy’s Conor Savage.
Gladiators A are now second after their 9-1 demolition of Holton A.
