MICK Denton was a clear individual winner of the Turner 400 on the Upper Thames from Grafham Lock to just below Tadpole Bridge.

The Drennan Oxford Green matchman, drawn above Radcot Bridge, had eight chub weighing up to four pounds, in his 32lb winning net.

Geoff Lewendon (Drennan Oxford Black) was second with 24.5.0, with Chris Bowen (Radcot Old Boys) third on 19.15.0.

The team event, in the 29-strong field, was won by Drennan Oxford Yellows’ quartet of Paul Glenfield, Tom Hobbs, Steve Townsend and Steve Harwood with 99 points, three clear of runners-up Garbolino Blackmore Vale.

Pete Clarke made it back-to-back wins in Littlemore AS’s W Henwood Cup at Sandford.

Clarke fished the waggler with hemp and caster and caught small roach and chublets for 10.7.0.

Gerald Perks recovered from an ‘early bath’ to claw himself back into second with 8.0.0, while John Davis was third in the 12-strong field on 7.8.0 for third.

Martin Wilkinson won Beehive AC’s Top Tackle points match with an impressive haul of 129lb on Wood Lake.

A close second was Marcus Molson with 121lb carp to pole and maggot with Les Radford third 106.
