Rileys C lead the new Gentworks Oxford & District Snooker League Premier Division table after starting their campaign with a convincing 5-1 victory over Woodstock.

Altaf Ali’s late double victory over Rob Selwood salvaged a 3-3 draw for Rileys B against Thame A, his back-to-back 61-50 and 66-31 wins leaving the home side frustrated.

Green Road A started their Division 1 campaign in style, with a 6-0 whitewash of Littlemore RBL.

Ray Benwell, Jason Poole and Andy Benwell triumphed confidently, with wins over Mike Allen, Connor Jones and Richard Berry respectively.

Oxford Bowls A came back to beat visitors Eynsham 2-1 in Gentworks Oxford & District Billiards League Division 2.

Although Norman Woodcock lost the opener to Michael McCluskey, wins for Stuart Giles and John Williams ensured victory for the hosts.

Second-placed Ashton closed the gap on the top of the Division 1 table with a 2-1 win at Abingdon Conservative Club A.
