JOE Gaul turned in a classy display when Blackbird Leys ABC took three junior boxers to Chatteris in Cambridgeshire last Saturday.
Gaul boxed out of his skin against heavier opponent Max Davies, of the host club, throwing some terrific body shots to win a well-deserved points decision.
His clubmate, Hammad Reehan, put on a good display against Archie Brown, of Allcomers ABC, losing on a narrow points decision to his more experienced opponent.
Ateq Ahmed, of Blackbird Leys, boxed well against his taller opponent, but lost on points.
Prizes were presented by ex-world champion boxer Dave Boy Green, The bouts were a good warm-up for Blackbird Leys’ next home boxing show at Roman Way Sports & Social Club on the afternoon of February 6.
