ABINGDON Conservative Club A overcame a heavy net handicap of 44 points to convincingly beat hosts Highfield B 5-1 in the Colin Cutler Memorial Trophy.
Kyle Walker and Michael Bennett each won both of their frames over Mick Kennard and Mel Temple respectively.
But Highfield were able to avoid a whitewash, with Jonathan Dade defeating Ben Rowland in the sixth and final frame.
In a net scratch tie, visitors Thame A edged a close game to prevail 4-2 over Green Road A.
After four frames the two sides were locked together at 2-2, but a double victory for Rob Selwood over Ray Benwell gave Thame victory.
