Any hopes the Grove-based Williams team had of catching Ferrari for the runners-up spot in the Formula 1 constructors championship were dashed when Sebastian Vettel won the Singapore Grand Prix.
The Ferrari driver proved a class above his rivals, with teammate Kimi Raikkonen third behind runner-up Red Bull’s Daniel Ricciardo.
For Williams, Valtteri Boss came fifth while Felipe Massa had to retire on lap 30 with a gearbox problem.
Williams now stand 112 points behind Ferrari in the constructors standings.
For the Enstone-based Lotus, Pastor Maldonado was 12th, while Romain Grosjean retired on lap 59.
