CONSTANTINE Louloudis has staked a claim to be selected for Great Britain’s coxless four at next year’s Olympic Games in Brazil.
Louloudis, who won a fourth Boat Race with Oxford University earlier this month, came second with Pete Reed in the coxless pair at the GB trials at Caversham.
With Oxford’s Andrew Triggs Hodge, a double Olympic gold medallist, suffering with illness, a stroke side seat could be up for grabs in the fours at Rio.
Louloudis and Reed finished behind Alex Gregory and Moe Sbihi at the trials.
Oxford Brookes’ Pete Chambers was sixth in the lightweight men’s, while his brother Richard was third.
Frances Houghton, challenging for a place at her fifth games, was third in the open women’s single scull final behind Katherine Grainger.
Oxford’s Katie Greves was third in her coxless pair, a place ahead of the boat containing Oxford Brookes’ Olivia Carnegie-Brown.
CITY of Oxford’s men retained the headship of the Oxford City Bumps for the fifth year.
Wallingford RC won the women’s event.
