OXFORD City Stars have delayed the start of their forthcoming match at home to Milton Keynes Thunder to accommodate football fans attending the Sky Bet League One match between Oxford United and MK Dons.

Stars’ English National League South Division 1 match against the Thunder on Saturday February 11 will now start at 7pm – two hours later than originally scheduled – in the hope of drawing a bigger attendance to the Oxpens rink.

Sarah Gooding, head of Stars’ supporters relations, welcomed the change.

She said; “The change in face-off time is a fantastic opportunity for Yellows fans all over the county to come and support the Oxfordshire United partnership that has been growing between OUFC and Stars for a number of years “We are delighted to have been able to work with Oxford United yet again, and hope we can fill the rink with yellow shirts against Milton Keynes.”

Meanwhile, Stars head coach Simon Anderson has a full roster of players to choose from for their match at home to Invicta Dynamos tomorrow (6.15).

Anderson said: “Our home form hasn’t been great recently and needs to improve, and we will be doing everything we can to give our fans a performance to be proud of.”

l OXFORD City Stars’ director Paul Lynch has stepped down.

Lynch was a partner along with Russell Shrives and James Schall in taking control of the Stars in May last year and has been delivering a much-improved relationship with Oxford Ice Rink.

Schall said: “We’re really grateful to Paul for his huge work and efforts.”

Lynch said: “I have enjoyed my short time with the Stars.

“The club has made massive progress, and I am positive with the people involved it will continue to grow.”
