Oxford Hawks women were unable to take advantage of a depleted Isca side and had to settle for a 0-0 draw in their home Investec Conference West contest on Saturday.

One of the cars carrying Isca players to the match broke down, which led to their fielding only ten players for the first 20 minutes.

Hawks dominated the early exchanges, but were unable to score.

In the second half, Hawks attacked on both flanks.

Isca had a few breaks of their own and Ria Male in the Hawks goal had to be alert to keep a clean sheet.

Hawks’ Katie Hewitt came close to breaking the deadlock but shot wide.

Oxford Hawks 2nd were involved in an entertaining 4-4 draw away to Oxford in South Clubs League Division 2.

Jo Tolson scored twice for Hawks, with their other goals coming from Abi Florey and Claire Werlinger.

Witney dropped their first points in a 4-3 loss at Banbury in Division 3A.

Ellie Norton gave Witney the lead, but Banbury quickly hit back with two short -corner goals, although they missed a penalty flick.

After the break Banbury scored twice from corners.

Witney rallied with goals from Anna Scrivens and Izzy Hayes to set up a tense finish.

 Oxford Hawks beat Ben Rhydding 2-1 in the the national cup on Sunday.
