OXFORD United midfielder Lauren Haynes believes a first win of the season is just around the corner as the squad adjust to the new ideas of boss Andy Cook.

The U’s came from behind to draw 1-1 with Brighton & Hove Albion last week, but travel to a London Bees side tomorrow who are full of confidence at the top of the FA Women’s Super League Spring Series.

The Bees have not lost this season, but Haynes is confident United are getting stronger as new first-team manager Cook continues to exert his influence on the team.

“London Bees have made some good signings, they had a great run last year and we are going to concentrate on their weaknesses and really take it to them,” Haynes said.

“We have a couple of new signings who have gelled well.

“Ini (Umotong) is in top form again we have a lot more fluidity in our front four or five.

“Andy Cook is putting in how he wants us to play.

“It’s about moving the ball more quickly and being more attack-minded, worrying about ourselves rather than the opposition.”
