SAMI Khawaja struck twice as Oxfordshire reached the semi-finals of the FA County Youth Cup for the first time with a magnificent 3-0 win at Cheshire.

Khawaja’s double came after Jack Tutton had put Oxon in front against the 2015 champions at Vauxhall Motors in Ellesmere Port.

It took the visitors just eight minutes to get off the mark when Khawaja headed the ball on for Dutton to finish clinically from an acute angle.

And the home side were indebted to goalkeeper Dylan Cross for keeping the score down before the break, denying Khawaja twice and keeping out Ahmed Farah in the early stages.

Khawaja added their second 12 minutes into the second half, seizing on a misplaced pass and slotting it into the corner.

Cheshire were reduced to ten men for the final 30 minutes and Khawaja duly took advantage, putting the finishing touches on a memorable victory eight minutes from time.

Oxon will now face Middlesex next month for a place in the final.

Meanwhile, Oxfordshire Under 16 held off a spirited comeback from visitors Dorset to claim a 3-2 victory in their South West Counties Championship tie at Milton United.

The hosts appeared to be cruising after opening up a three-goal lead, only to find themselves clinging on at the end.

Piers Walton opened the scoring after 20 minutes with a low strike after an impressive run from Arron Jhutti.

The lead was doubled before the break when Walton picked out Joe Fleming to fire home.

And Walton made it 3-0 in the second half when he found the top corner from a narrow angle.

However, the Oxon backline allowed Dan Hunt to reduce the deficit, sparking the visitors into life.

Keeper Matty Simms made two desperate saves to maintain Oxon’s advantage, but he was beaten again in stoppage time when Elliott Moody headed in from a free-kick.
