PROMOTED AFC Jericho went top of Division 2 following a 4-1 win at Abba Athletic.
Jericho led 2-1 at half-time through Jack Hayhurst’s lob and Aaron Williams’s free-kick, Joe Long replying for Abba. Hayhurst and Reece Ward – with a header – completed Jericho’s tally after the break.
Oxford FC scrambled to a 3-2 victory at winless Rutherford Lab.
Tom Argent put Lab in front, but strikes from Lamine Sow, Sekou Bangoura and Andrew Pantry gave Oxford a 3-1 lead.
That lasted until the final two minutes when John Hawkins reduced the arrears.
Research Machines took a 2-0 lead against Didcot Casuals through Andy Warmington – his first goal for three years – and Alex Bird But Casuals fought back for a 2-2 draw through Joe Murphy and Wayne Railton.
Brightwell opened their account, Ben Cordery’s strike giving them a 1-0 win at Wallingford Exiles.
