CHARLES Appiah blasted a hat-trick as unbeaten Summertown Stars thrashed Oxford Brookes University 8-3 in the Oxford City FA Premier Division.

Goals from Brookes duo Theo Sturgis and Matty Naisbit ensured the sides were level at half-time, cancelling out earlier efforts from Michael Andrews and Jordan Logan.

But the home side ran riot after the break with Appiah’s treble, a double from Abul Habbachi and another from Ola Abiola, although Brookes did pull one back thanks to an Alex Thompson own goal.

Jacob Grimes scored twice and Stuart Rainex, Ben Dyer and Andrew McGregor were also on target to give St Ebbes Headington a 5-3 home win over Wheatley Youth.

Ben Shepherd (2) and Jacob Joseph replied for the visitors.

FAIRVIEW saw off a comeback from Masons Arms to claim a 3-2 home victory in the Oxfordshire Junior Cup.

Lewis Moss (2) and Dan Clarke put the hosts 3-0 up at the break, but Tino Scremwe and Mason Horwood set up a nervy ending.
