NORTH Leigh cruised into the second qualifying round of the Buildbase FA Trophy with a 6-1 victory over Yate Town.
Eric Odhiambo and George Seacole both scored twice, while James Fawke and Jon Steedman also netted as the Millers eased past their Evo-Stik Southern League Division 1 South & West counterparts.
The visitors set the tone after just 24 seconds when Michael Hopkins drove an effort just wide.
They broke the deadlock on 19 minutes when Seacole outpaced the defence and found Odhiambo, who clipped the ball past goalkeeper Jonathan Brown.
Three minutes later it was 2-0 as Seacole cheekily backheeled the ball into the net from close range.
Millers keeper Conor Thompson was called into action to deny Camen Harvey as John Brough’s side maintained their two-goal lead at the break.
However, the hosts reduced the arrears on 47 minutes when Jon Else committed a foul in the area and Jack Ball scored from the penalty spot.
But with Yate pushing for an equaliser, the visitors made the most of the counter attack and Odhiambo fired home to make it 3-1.
Seacole then finished off a fine team move, before Fawke got in on the act to make it 5-1 on 77 minutes.
The scoring was then completed with five minutes to go when Steedman headed home Matty Woodley’s corner.
