JOINT manager Ian Concannon is urging his Didcot Town side to start picking up points ahead of tonight's Evo-Stik Southern League encounter at home to Mangotsfield United (7.45).

The Railwaymen, who did not play at the weekend due to their early exit in the FA Trophy, are 17th in Division 1 South & West and have up to five games in hand on some teams after their historic Emirates FA Cup run.

Didcot were beaten in the first round by Exeter City and Concannon is now stressing the importance of the league.

He said: “We are a bit too close to the bottom for my liking – we need to start picking up points very quickly.

"The cup run has been great and fantastic for everyone, but it's finished so we have got one sole responsibiltiy now and that is the league.

“We had the weekend off, we have seen a lot of each other over the last few weeks, and we needed that time to rest up.”

Jimmy Deabill is unavailable due to work commitments, while Jack Longford is a doubt for the game with shin splints.
